St. Paul’s Hoddlesden Church of England Primary School

St. Paul’s is a small community village school with a strong Christian tradition that goes back 150 years.  We provide an education to 145 local children in five mixed age range classes.  Our philosophy is built on giveng every individual the opportunity of achieving without restriction and we do our best to develop each child to his or her full potential.  Our Mission Statement is built on partnership between pupils, parents, teachers and the wider community which plays a big part in the life of our school.  Beavers, cubs and scouts all use the school.  We have our own before and after-school club called ‘Kidsland’.  In the near future we are hoping to have our own Cybercafe!

Our school site is situated in a lovely aspect amongst sycamore and horse chestnut trees overlooking the West Pennine Moors.  We have three outdoor play areas and a sports field where children can enjoy some of the extra activities the school can offer, such as football, cricket, cross-country, netball and rounders, but we cater tor children who enjoy music, drama, science and ICT too!

We have a good balance of youth and experience on our dedicated team of teachers and assistants.  Together we share a sense of togetherness and teamwork which helps us to further improve the service we provide and this attitude permeates downwards and through to our students.

At St. Paul’s we relish new challenges and try to keep educational initiatives in perspective.  We try to keep our curriculum fresh and exciting to stimulate the willingness to learn new things.  We all consider ourselves learners here.........

The school recently made a wonderful display of artwork about our Millennium Green.  We hope to be able to put some photographs of this on the Website in due course.
