The Company started as an engineering business over 25 years ago in Darwen with just 4 personnel and has now grown into a 2 site operation, still based in the area, that now employs over 150 in a 75,000 sq foot production site. WEC Group, as the Company is now called, has four specialist divisions of production to date, but continues to grow. We still remember our roots and use the phrase ‘BIG ENOUGH TO COPE, SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE’. Here is a brief outline of what we do: Welding Engineering This division works on a vast range of specialist fabrications from the rail industry, aircraft industry and bespoke fabrications large and small. They have just moved into a brand new factory due to increased demand in the range of skills and service that they can provide. Laser Engineering This is a laser profile service utilising the latest technology to cut all types of metal for the engineering industry. It has just added a third laser, the most powerful unit in the market today, to enhance its operation. It also supplies to its own in-house divisions for their projects which makes our company extremely competitive in the fabricaton industry WEC Camera Mounting Solutions This division serves the ever growing need for security CCTV installations and provides camera structures to a vast range of security companies and installers in the UK and overseas. Included in its range of services, this division works with the Highways Agency to provide solutions for most of the CCTV structures on the UK motorway network. m-tec This is the latest division to the company which is focusing on specialist fabrications in street architecture and stainless steel. It is currently working with some of the major lighting companies in the world to assist in providing solutions for artistic and cutting edge design. Its furure expansion in this industry is set to grow not only in the UK but also overseas and it’s looking to introduce a range of specialist enclosures in 2004 to extend its growing portfolio. |
